The Inconvenient Truth.

Section One: Personal Reflection.
The Inconvenient Truth was a film that touched on so many levels of the environmental issues facing human kind. I best remember his personal stories, and the messages he was placing with them, this proved to me that Al Gore really cares about the environment. It probably hasn’t so much as changed my awareness of global warming as to reinstate the problem of our situation on earth and the dire necessity to do something about it. The images of all the Glaciers and other natural wonders that are fading and dying out rapidly because of what we humans are doing to the planet were very compelling to do something positive for it. I believe that if there are enough people out there like Al Gore who are aware of the problems and issues and are prepared to act immediately then I think it is quite likely we might save our wonderful planet, at the moment we are in a difficult balance that could tip either way very easily.


Section Two: Deepening the Learning.
I learnt so much that it is hard to separate it all, I think learning all the statistics and figures about the increase in CO2 emissions, and how closely they were related to the increase in human population.
Yes this film gave me proof that human’s are the main cause for global warming, when Al Gore spoke about the CO2 emissions and its increase which rose steadily along with the human population. It doesn’t take much to make me believe that humans caused the majority of global warming because if you were to line up all animal species, us included, there isn’t one other that is quite so domineering and overruling as us, no other specie would try to bend nature to their own will.
I always enjoy listening to David Attenborough talk about his views on global warming but I think one other person I would like to hear talk about global warming is Nelson Mandela, I think he is a very clear headed man and would have a lot to say on this great issue, I would like to know what he thinks and what he thinks of Al Gore and the Inconvenient Truth.
I think that in the present day with our planet in such trouble anyone who has something to say to help must be given a chance as we hardly have any other options and so I think we can no longer be choosy about who to trust.


Section Three: Moral and Future Considerations.
I have always been brought up thinking about the environment and with knowledge that we humans caused it and that we will have to fix it. I have a Grandpa in the country and throughout my life I have noticed changes come over his farm and the small farming community like the drought that have been solely formed by global warming.
I think there is no teenager, child or adult alive that is not aware of the global warming issue; but the real problem is whether they will do anything about it. Our race is so focused on personal advancement and money that when politicians talk about global warming they are a lot of the time doing it just to improve poles, this is sad as they have a lot of influence and could make a great deal of difference if they put aside their greed to help the earth, which if you think about it, without our earth will their power and money really do them any good?
I see conflicts daily, mostly from the government and media, talking continually about global warming but not doing anything, I try to separate these fake interests from the real ones, like Al Gore, and try to follow their suggestions as best as possible.
I believe our economic system is hardly helping us fight global warming, it is probably the largest roadblock in our way to saving the planet, human’s are very greedy and lazy, to fight global warming we will have to completely overturn the way the majority of us live and think. The Inconvenient Truth is a great start, simplifying quite a complex subject and explaining it to people, making us care. As many people as possible should watch the Inconvenient Truth, it is a film that is the start, the foundation for helping our planet, the more people that see films like it, the better for our planet and human kind.
